wrap-up
i have to say... i'm somewhat dissapointed in the end result of this project. i'm not sure what to blame it on... time of year, the fact that it's my first time organizing something like this... whatever it may be. needless to say, it's been somewhat difficult to get up the energy to start something like this all over again. believe me, there WILL still be more flower projects in my future... i'm just not quite sure when yet.
last call... anyone who hasn't gotten a flower of some sort yet, please reply to this post and i'll be sure to send one to you. i've made a few extras just for this purpose.
in the event that i DO decide to run another round, does anyone have any ideas for me? any and all suggestions are more than welcome. do i make enrolement by nomination only? invitation? do i have to ask people to provide references?... heh. please! voice your ideas here, let me know how we can make this work next time, i'm absolutely certain it CAN be done.

I didn't receive one, but you already knew that. ;)
It was fun Alice, and I enjoyed making my flower and seeing the reaction of the person I sent it to. In terms of making it more successful, I think Gracie's idea of not matching people up until last call, then only match up those folks who have finished a flower. Still an honor system type of thing, but hopefully with more follow through, since all you have to do when you get your match is mail your flower and other goodies. Plus, maybe the idea of letting people know that they will be dropped from the list if they don't make the last flower call, will either spur them to finish so they can remain in the group and still belong, or give them an out if "life" gets in the way. We all have times like that.
I think it also takes frequent posting on the part of the hostess (every two to three days at least to keep it in the front of everones mind)
Even though I didn't get a flower this time around (other than possibly one from our hostess) I would still probably give it one more shot with these or some similar ideas to keep everyone motivated. JMVHO.
Hope you decide to give it another try sometime in the future. it was a very cute idea.
